SPDC is planning to invest in a solar energy project in the Savannakhet Special Economic Zone (Savannakhet province, Laos) and a transmission grid system connected to the Vietnamese grid. Hence, SPDC wishes to cooperate with EVN in electricity trading between Vietnam and Laos.
With regard to the cooperation in the field of electricity trading, Mr. Tran Dinh Nhan said that importing electricity from Laos to Vietnam has been specified in the policy made by the Government of Vietnam and the Government of Laos. Currently, EVN is implementing it in accordance with the policy of energy cooperation between the two countries. However, Laos' electricity purchase price frame after 2025 has not been issued yet. Therefore, EVN’s CEO and President recommended SPDC leaders do research and calculate it thoroughly to work out an effective investment solution.
