Emulation to build Quang Trach I Thermal Power Plant and Quang Trach Power Center Infrastructure in 2024

Program to summarize the emulation movement for Quang Trach I Thermal Power Plant project in 2023 and launch emulation for Quang Trach I Thermal Power Plant project, Quang Trach Power Center Infrastructure Project in 2024 is organized by Vietnam Electricity (EVN), Power Project Management Board No. 2 (PPMB2) in coordination with contractor joint ventures on the morning of February 23, in Quang Trach district, Quang Binh province.

In 2023, many items meet and surpass plans

Reporting at the ceremony, Mr. Nguyen Van Thanh - Director of PPMB2 said that Quang Trach Power Center includes 3 projects (Infrastructure of Quang Trach Power Center, Quang Trach I Thermal Power Plant, Quang Trach II Thermal Power Plant) invested by EVN, assigned to PPMB2 to manage and operate the project.

Permanent Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee and chairman of the People's Council of Quang Binh province - Mr. Tran Hai Chau assessed that EVN has implemented project investment in the province promptly, effectively, seriously, and professionally.

In 2023, PPMB2 together with the Contractor Joint Venture of MISUBISHI - HYUNDAI - CC1, the Contractor Joint Venture of PHUXUAN-PACIFIC-WACOSE, and consulting units strive to overcome difficulties and successfully complete progress milestones committed at the 2023 emulation launching ceremony.

Specifically, completing and surpassing the foundation emulation target of the items: Boiler, turbine, chimney, central control house, water and wastewater treatment system, and so on.

In the site clearance work, the following items have now been completed and handed over to the contractor: Quang Trach I Thermal Power Plant, coal import port and breakwater, shared items such as cooling water supply and drainage pipes, coal conveyors, roads to the coal port and recirculation water pumping system, auxiliary areas, recirculation drainage channels, etc. A number of other items are being directed by the People's Committee of Quang Binh province to be urgently completed for handover in the near future.

EVN leaders also hope to continue to receive the attention, direction, and support from the government and people of Quang Binh province so that Vietnam Electricity can well perform its assigned tasks in investing in building power source infrastructure, and power grids, and ensuring power supply, contributing to the industrialization and modernization process of the country.

Mr. Lee Yun Seok - Project Director of the Contractor Joint Venture of MISUBISHI - HYUNDAI - CC1 said that the Quang Trach I Thermal Power Plant project with supercritical technology, plays an important role in meeting household electricity needs, especially in the Central and Southern regions of Vietnam. Despite facing challenges, the Contractor Joint Venture has still actively worked with the investor and related units to closely coordinate and support each other. Through this emulation movement, the Joint Venture aims to reach 61% of construction progress by 2024, including pre-commissioning of the water treatment system, thereby setting clear goals and deadlines for the coming time.

Emphasizing the importance of solidarity and collaborative efforts, Mr. Lee Yun Seok called on each individual participating in the project to always keep a common commitment, work together harmoniously, and coordinate closely to achieve safety and quality goals and complete them on schedule not only for 2024 but also for the following years.
