220 kV Vinh Tuong substation has been put into operation
The project was commenced in the third quarter of 2015 with a total investment of over VND 437 billion, invested by EVNNPC and has been directly managed and run by the Power Development Project Management Board.
The 220/110 kV Vinh Tuong substation consists of two 220 kV transformers of 250 MVA each and a 110 kV substation having two 110 kV transformers of 40 MVA each. In the first phase, one AT2-250 MVA transformer and one T3-40 MVA transformer have been installed.
After the successful energization, the substation shall meet the increasing load demand of the Northern power system and support the existing 220 kV substations in Vinh Phuc province.
In the long run, this will be an important 220/110 kV node in the northern power system, creating a loop connection for the 110 kV grid, contributing to reducing power losses, improving grid reliability and ensuring a safe, stable and uninterrupted power supply for the people and the local customers’ loads.
