The project is invested by the National Power Transmission Corporation (EVNNPT). CPMB manages the project, Power Transmission Company No.2 undertakes its management and operation after the project has been completed.

The project included replacing one 220/110/11kV-125MVA transformer (existing AT3) by a new 220/110/22kV-250MVA transformer; replacing the 110kV total bay current transformers, the AT3 220kV transformer to ensure the rated current and the appropriate measurement ratio when increasing the transformer capacity to 250MVA; installing six new  220kV lightning arrester  at C21, C22 busbars; completing control and protection systems, and the existing SCADA system suitable for the newly installed transformer.

Energizing and putting into operation AT3 220kV-250MVA transformer at 220kV Hoa Khanh substation aims to meet increasing power demand in Da Nang city, ensuring stable, long-term and reliable power supply for socio-economic development in the region.
