Construction of Pleiku 2 500 kV substation
nergizing and putting into operation the vertical capacitors would help enhance transmission capacity of Pleiku - My Phuoc - Cau Bong double-circuit 500 kV power line; ensuring safe and reliable operation of North – Centre – South 500 kV transmission backbone; strengthening Vietnam – Lao transmission network (through Xekaman 1, Xekaman San-Xay, upper Xekong 3, lower Xekong 3 hydropower plants, and through Xekaman 1 – Pleiku 2 220 kV power line); reducing possibilities of failures and mitigating pressure on operation of the existing Pleiku 500 kV substation.
Pleiku 2 500 kV substation project is owned and invested by EVNNPT, implemented by Central Project Management Board (CPMB) and designed by Power Engineering Consulting Joint Stock Company No.4 (PECC4). Power Transmission Company No.3 (PTC3) performed dismantling, packing and reinstallation of equipment transferred from Pleiku 500 kV substation to Pleiku 2 500 kV substation and took over for management and operation.
Pleiku 2 500 kV substation is located at O So village, La Kenh commune, Pleiku city, Gia Lai province.
The extension of Cau Bong 500 kV feeder has been carried out at a standby position within the fence of the existing Cau Bong 500 kV substation at Tan Phu Trung commune, Cu Chi district, Ho Chi Minh City.
