The Earth Hour 2019 will take place in March 2019; with the main event (night of turning off lights for response to the Campaign) to be organized from 8:30 pm - 9:30 pm on 30 March.
In order to make contributions to common efforts of the world and propagate for energy saving, environmental protection, climate change response, the MOIT requires groups, corporations and units in the whole sector of Industry and Trade to cooperate with localities to propagate and respond to the Earth Hour Campaign 2019.
The contents include: properly implementing power saving measures; organizing communication activities on economical and efficient use of energy; mobilizing affiliated units to voluntarily turn off unnecessary lights and electric equipment from 8:30 pm to 9:30 pm on 30 March 2019.
The MOIT has asked EVN to coordinate with the Department of Energy Saving and Sustainable Development to organize the Campaign; prepare methods of operating the power system during the Campaign; ensure a safe and stable power source at the locations of main event night, etc.
The Earth Hour is an initiative of the World Wide Fund for Nature (WWF) in order to raise public awareness of climate change and energy saving around the world.
Over the past years, the Earth Hour Campaign in Viet Nam chaired by the MOIT has attracted the attention and response of millions of people in 63 provinces and cities nationwide.
By 2018, EVN had participated in the Earth Hour Campaign for 10 consecutive years as the main sponsor and co-operator of the Campaign.
