Mr. Vo Quang Lam - EVN’s Deputy General Director said that, together with efforts to ensure sufficient supply of power for socio-economic development of the country and people’s living activities, EVN is always clearly aware of responsibilities to society and community.
This is the fourth time EVN has coordinated with the National Institute of Hematology and Blood Transfusion (NIHBT) to organize the voluntary blood donation program with the participation of tens of thousands of staffs and employees from the Group.
The fourth EVN Red Week took place from 24 to 31 December 2018, it also one of the activities to celebrate the 64th anniversary of Vietnamese Power Sector Traditional Day (21 December 1954 - 21 December 2018) and actively respond to the program of “Customer Gratitude Month - December 2018” of EVN at the same time.

Presenting at the Ceremony, Dr. Ngo Manh Quan - Head of the Department of Mobilization and Organization of Blood Donation - NIHBT also shared that the Institute needed about averagely 1,500 blood units per day for emergency and treatment cases in Northern hospitals, particularly at least 700 blood units/day for blood type O.
Therefore, EVN Red Week is an activity with practical meaning towards the whole society and community, contributing to blood bank in emergency and contingency for patients, especially children patients at the end of the year, which is the time of scarcity for contingency blood.
This is the 4th year of Viet Nam Electricity in collaboration with NIHBT to organize EVN Red Week program.
The first, second, and third EVN Red Week programs over the past years have contributed 4,586; 8,266 and 10,125 blood units, respectively, for the national blood bank, showing the voluntary spirit of staffs and employees in the Power sector increasingly replicated year by year.
Also within the scope of activities to mobilize the voluntary blood donation under the fourth EVN Red Week, on 2 December 2018, EVN coordinated with the NIHBT to organize “Playground for children - Enlightening future” for children under treatment of blood cancer at Pediatrics Department of the Institute.
