Capacity raising for Ca Mau 220kV substation completed

The Southern Vietnam Power Projects Management Board (SPMB) organized energizing power and putting 220kV-250MVA AT2 transformer into operation at Ca Mau 220kV substation.

The project scale includes replacing AT2 transformer with capacity of 125MVA by another with capacity of 250MVA (raising total capacity of the station to 2 x 250MVA), installing equipment of 02 feeders for the 220kV transmission line connecting to Nam Can 220kV substation, installing equipment of 04 feeders for 110kV transmission line, installing voltage transformer and lightning prevention valve for 22kV side of AT2 transformer, adding part of synchronous control, protection and measurement relays in accordance with this project.

The project meets the power demand for social, economic development of Ca Mau province, limiting losses in the power transmission grid.

This is one of 3 works under the project “Raising power capacity of Tra Vinh, Ca Mau 220kV Substation and installing 110kV feeders for Ben Tre 220kV Substation”. The total investment of this project is over VND 173 billion, invested by the National Power Transmission Corporation (EVNNPT), managed by SPMB on behalf of EVNNPT in operation, taken over and operated by Power Transmission Company No. 4.

Before that, SPMB energized the work  “Raising capacity of Tra Vinh 220kV substation” on 14 October 2018 and completed “Installing 110kV feeders for Ben Tre 220kV substation” on 16 December 2018.
