Project of Quang Trach I Thermopower Plant under Quang Trach Power Center is invested by Electricity of Vietnam (EVN), and Power Project Management Board No. 2 is assigned to represent for the investor to manage and operate the project. The project has been approved by the Prime Minister in Decision No. 428/QD-TTg dated 18 March 2016 on adjusting the National Power Development Master Plan for the period 2011 - 2020, with a vision to 2030 (Planning on power development). VII adjustment); Document No. 1828/TTg-KTN of the Prime Minister dated 15 October 2016 on the assignment of Electricity of Vietnam (EVN) as the investor of Quang Trach I Thermopower Plant project at the Quang Trach Power Center, Quang Binh Province.
The total investment of the project is VND 41,130 billion, with a total area of about 48.6 hectares in Vinh Son village, Quang Dong commune, Quang Trach district, Quang Binh province. The project includes 2 power units with a total installed capacity of 1,200MW, when put into operation, the plant will supply the national power system with an annual output of about 8.4 billion kWh, contributing to ensuring national energy security, improving the safety and stability of the power system. The main bidding package of EPC for the Quang Trach I Thermopower Plant Project will be performed by a Contractor Joint venture consisting of a number of Japanese, Korean contractors and Construction Corporation No. 1. They are all large, reputable, capable and experienced contractors in many large thermopower projects. Quang Trach I Thermopower Plant uses modern technology of ultra-supercritical steam parameter (USC) - the highest among Thermopower plants in Vietnam today. The project is expected to be completed and put into operation in 2025.
In terms of environmental protection, the plant will be equipped with synchronous systems of wastewater treatment, exhaust gas and dust filtration. Therefore, the gas emission level after being treated fully complies with current Vietnamese environmental standards and is equivalent to that of the World Bank (World Bank). The plant environment parameters during operation are transmitted to the Department of Natural Resources and Environment of Quang Binh province for online monitoring and public display at the plant gate 24/24h in accordance with the State's regulations on environmental management.
Quang Trach I Thermopower Plant is an important project in promoting the socio-economic development of Quang Binh province in particular and the whole country in general.
On the occasion of the groundbreaking ceremony of Quang Trach I Thermopower Plant, the Electricity of Vietnam has donated an amount of VND 01 billion to Quang Binh province to carry out social security work, to serve the construction and repair of houses for the poor and families with difficulties in the locality.
