The power output of the whole system in October 2021 reached 20.28 billion kWh, decreasing by 0.3% over the same period in 2020. As accumulated in 10 months, the figure reached 212.65 billion kWh, an increase of 3.1% over the same period, in which the level and rate of mobilization of some main sources are specified as follows:
+ Hydropower: 63.49 billion kWh, accounting for 29.9% of the total power output of the whole system.
+ Coal-fired power: 100.78 billion kWh, accounting for 47.4% of the total power output of the whole system.
+ Gas turbine: 22.44 billion kWh, accounting for 10.6% of the total power output of the whole system.
+ Renewable energy (wind power, solar power, biomass power): 24.10 billion kWh, accounting for 11.3% of the total power output of the whole system.
+ Mobilized oil thermopower: reaching insignificant output, equivalent to 02 million kWh.
+ Imported power reached 1,185 billion kWh, accounting for 0.6% of the total power output of the whole system.
In the first 10 months of 2021, the power produced by EVN and Power Generation Corporations (including joint-stock companies) reached 104.12 billion kWh, accounting for nearly 50% of the power output of the whole system.
The commercial power output of EVN in October 2021 was estimated at 18.11 billion kWh, decreasing by 1.07% compared to the same period in October 2020. The accumulated output for 10 months of 2021 reached 187.56 billion kWh, increasing by 3.85% over the same period in 2020.
The power transmission output in October 2021 reached 15.77 billion kWh. Accumulated transmission power output for 10 months of 2021 reached 167.99 billion kWh, decreasing by 1.8% over the same period last year.
In respect of business and customer service: By the end of October 2021, the rate of customers paying electricity bills in non-cash form reached 77.99%; the percentage of electricity bills paid in non-cash form reached 93.38% for all EVN.
In respect of construction investment: As accumulated for10 months of 2021, EVN's units have started 98 power grid projects; completed energizing 96 110-500 kV grid projects (including: 6 500kV projects, 19 220kV projects and 71 110kV projects). In which, some typical projects have been energized as follows: 500kV - 900MVA transformers, Nghi Son 500kV substation; energizing Dong Ha - Lao Bao 220kV transmission line, completing the whole project; energizing to increase the capacity of Xuan Mai 220kV substation, Son Ha 220kV substation (phase 2), Tuyen Quang 220kV substation, and Son Dong 220kV substation, and so on.
Some goals and tasks in November 2021
In November 2021, the average power consumption of the whole system is expected at 678.8 million kWh/day, the largest load capacity is estimated at 36,877 MW.
Objectives of power system operation in November 2021:
- Continuing to perform well the dual task of ensuring the prevention and control of the COVID-19 pandemic, while ensuring the power production and supply for the country's socio-economic development and people's daily activities and ensuring power supply for COVID-19 treatment hospitals, medical facilities, concentrated isolation areas.
- Reasonable exploitation of hydropower to ensure safety in operation and strive for the goal of water storage by the end of the year. Hydropower reservoirs in the North need to limit its exploitation to ensure long-term goals, serving the power supply for the whole dry season in 2022.
- High mobilization of coal-fired power plants in the North during peak load cycles to ensure the target of water storage in the Northern hydropower reservoirs.
- Mobilization of gas turbines according to system needs, ensuring system stability, and at the same time complying with the requirements of grid overload protection and voltage quality.
Regarding construction investment: Continuing to implement procedures for arranging loans to be invested in power source and grid projects. In November 2021, a credit contract for AFD loan shall be signed for Expanded Hoa Binh Hydropower Plant project and AFD loan for EVNSPC; negotiating a credit contract with Agribank on a loan to be used for the Expanded Ialy Hydropower Plant project; negotiating a credit contract for Nam Mo - Tuong Duong 220kV transmission line project.
In addition, in November 2021, EVN is to continue to direct the Power Corporations/ Companies to fully prepare human resources and facilities, strengthen the 24/7 response; proactively get ready to respond to natural disasters, floods and storms to ensure the safety of people, electrical equipment, works and ensure the safety of hydropower reservoirs, dams, plants, downstream areas of reservoirs, and so on.
