To be proactive in ensuring electricity supply in the City in 2024, right from the beginning of the year, Hanoi City People's Committee directed the Department of Industry and Trade and EVNHANOI to develop operating scenarios, power supply plans and issued many documents to provide key tasks and solutions to ensure uninterrupted electricity supply for the City, especially during the peak hot times in the summer of 2024.

Implementing the Prime Minister's Direction in Official Dispatch No. 38/CD-TTg dated April 15, 2024, on drastic, synchronous and effective implementation of solutions to ensure electricity supply during peak periods in 2024 and in the following years, the Ministry of Industry and Trade and Hanoi City People's Committee have issued the guiding documents to request all bodies, agencies, EVNHANOI, businesses, and people in the city to seriously implement tasks including Actively implementing communication activities to raise community awareness about economical and efficient use of electricity; developing the movement of households using electricity safely, economically, and energy saving; Organizing electricity saving communication to each target group such as offices, administrative and non-business units, public lighting, advertising lighting, outdoor decoration, service businesses, manufacturing enterprises, schools, etc. in the Capital.
In addition, strengthening state management, promoting inspection and supervision of safe, scientific and effective management and operation of the power system; accelerating construction progress of key power supply projects to further enhance the power grid and power supply capacity for the City; deploying measures to adjust electricity load and shifting consumption capacity for large customers in the non-commercial electricity demand response program (DR Program); preparing a plan to balance and regulate loads (production - business - social activities - people's life), mobilizing internal sources to support power supply, formulating grid operation plans, etc. in force majeure cases when the national power system encounters difficulties and is forced to cut off to ensure system security.

The plan sets a specific goal, in the period 2023 - 2025 and the following years, to strive to annually save at least 2.2% of total electricity consumption of each electricity consumption area in the city in the fields of industry, commerce and services; construction; management and consumption; agriculture - forestry - fishery; other activities.
