Regarding the implementation of the National Power Development Plan for the period 2021-2030, vision to 2050 (PDP8): Through review, in Binh Duong province, currently 29 industrial parks (IPs) and 09 industrial clusters (CCN) are prepared to come into operation with an occupancy rate of over 80%.

According to the Industrial Park and Industrial Cluster Development Plan of Binh Duong province for the period 2021-2030, with a vision to 2050, the number of industrial parks and industrial clusters will increase to 43 and 30 respectively by 2030. The total land area of industrial parks and industrial clusters in Binh Duong is very large, with the potential to develop ground-mounted and rooftop solar power can grow to more than 3,000MW by 2030 and more than 5,000MW by 2050 and will be in the form of self-production and self-consumption, in order to meet the electricity needs for socio-economic development in each period, ensuring that electricity is one step ahead, implementing energy transition from fossil fuels to other new energy, renewable energy sources to reduce environmental pollution, reduce greenhouse gas emissions, contributing to the goal of net zero emissions by 2050.

In this regard, the People's Committee of Binh Duong Province recommends that the Government approve adding to the implementation plan of PDP8 or integrating into Binh Duong Provincial Master Plan for the period 2021-2030, with a vision to 2020, about 3,000 MW by 2030 and more than 5000 MW by 2050 of self-production and self-consumption solar power capacity in the province, to serve the electricity needs for socio-economic development in each period.

In response to Binh Duong province's recommendation on the need to use self-production and self-consumption solar power, the Deputy Prime Minister emphasized that using renewable energy and carbon credits in the production process is necessary, especially from 2025, this will be the "passport" so that goods can be exported to foreign markets.

Deputy Prime Minister Tran Hong Ha added that to facilitate clean energy development, the Government will concretize solar energy issues, so that not only Binh Duong but also other provinces in the country can have grounds to promote solar energy development. However, the Deputy Prime Minister noted that solar energy development requires special attention to ensure the safety of the power system.
