According to Plan No. 63/KH-UBND dated March 13, 2018, five main tasks in the Energy Efficiency and Conservation program of Hanoi in 2018 are composed of: Communication for awareness improvement, motivating the community, promoting energy conservation and efficiency, environmental protection; Developing and universalizing high-efficiency, energy - saving equipment, step by step eliminating low – efficiency equipment; Promoting energy conservation in industrial activities and greening power generation sources and power distribution; Efficient energy use in buildings and public lighting; Economical and efficient energy use in transportation sector.
One of the goals set for 2018 will be to develop a model of energy efficiency, to stimulate businesses to develop energy efficiency indicators, to promote the use of “industrial revolution 4.0" technologies in management and operation to ensure energy efficiency, enhancing electricity saving in production and business activities, etc.
Hanoi's energy saving in 2018 is expected to be between 2% and 3% of energy consumption in comparison with the forecasted demand.
