The Group will exploit optimally both hydropower and thermal power in order to sufficiently supply power for socio-economic development and people’s life and simultaneously ensure downstream water supply for localities. EVN also requires power plants to improve their availability, prepare sufficient fuel, materials, equipment and human resources to be ready for meeting mobilization requirement of the National Load Dispatch Centre.
It is expected that the average power output of the whole system in May 2018 is 635.2 million kWh/day, with the maximum load capacity of 33,500MW. Along with available power supply options due to highly increasing load, EVN also directs its affiliated units to conduct the disaster prevention and search & rescue plan 2018, ensuring the safety of reservoirs – dams and hydropower works and downstream areas.
In April 2018, EVN mobilized 170 million kWh of oil-fired power in addition of hydropower - thermal power to ensure sufficient power supply to the South during dry season’s peak. Total power output in April 2018 was 18.03 billion kWh; the highest daily output reached 646.5 million KWh.
Thus, in the first four months of 2018, the total power output in the entire system reached 67 billion kWh, increasing by 11.08% over the same period of 2017.
