Mr. Tran Viet Nguyen, Deputy Director of the Business Department of Vietnam Electricity (EVN), said that this electricity saving amount does not include the one gained from energy service projects (ESCO), roof – top photovoltaic projects of customers.
In order to reach the target, EVN will select and implement electricity saving programs and solutions of community effects, widely spreading, which will be prioritized through effective communication channels. In parallel with communication activities, EVN will focus on advising and targeting specific groups of customers such as households, shrimp farming, agricultural production, hospitals, schools, export processing zones, industrial zones, etc.
For many years, EVN has always been considered by the Government and Ministry of Industry and Trade as the pioneer in implementing power saving programs. Typical programs such as load research; energy audit; replacement of incandescent bulbs with compact fluorescent lamps; saving electricity for dragon fruit plantation, chrysanthemum plantation, shrimp farming; saving electricity in households, schools, offices, etc. all have achieved good results, contributing to raising awareness of people and communities in using electricity safely, economically and effectively.
