According to Mr. Dao Trong Sang, Deputy Director of EVNPMB1, in August, the Expanded Hoa Binh Hydropower Plant site achieved many positive results: Concrete pouring for the water intake and plant reached 163% and 106% of the plan, respectively; concrete pouring and installation of elbow items under vertical wells No. 1 and No. 2 reached 100% of the plan; concrete pouring for tunnels No. 1 and No. 2 reached 104% and 142% of the plan, respectively; excavation and reinforcement of drainage tunnels reached 100% of the plan, etc. EVNPMB1 has coordinated with the contractor to speed up the concrete construction progress; strengthen concrete quality control and construction quality supervision records in accordance with current regulations.

Speaking at the meeting, Vice President Pham Hong Phuong directed that EVNPMB1 and HBHPEP Management Board need to continue to maintain good progress, organize construction to ensure the plan in the coming time, and complete the project on schedule.
Vice President Pham Hong Phuong requested that in September 2024, the project shall carry out a number of major tasks, including Completing construction methods and measures to dismantle the water intake cofferdam embankment; the detailed progress plan for the 500kV connecting line; the detailed plan for construction of vertical wells and water tunnels in sync with the project progress. This is also the basis for EVNPMB1 to develop and submit to the Group the project progress plan for 2025.
At the construction site, it is necessary to continue to speed up the construction progress of the items of water intake, plant, and vertical wells; during the construction process, it is necessary to focus on ensuring the quality of concrete and concrete surface. The Group's leaders also requested EVNPMB1 to control the quality of the supply of materials and equipment, ensuring that the construction is carried out continuously. EVNPMB1 closely coordinates with the consulting unit to carry out the work of preparing, appraising, and approving the revised technical design.
