AT2 transformer at Ben Luc 220kV substation
The project is implemented in the existing Ben Luc 220kV substation site at Hamlet 6, Nhut Chanh Commune, Ben Luc District, Long An Province. The project is invested by the National Power Transmission Corporation (EVNNPT).
The project is designed with the scale of installing the second transformer (Transformer AT2) 220kV - 250MVA, increasing the total capacity of the whole station to 500MVA. For the 220kV side, equipment is installed for 01 main bay at AT2 transformer and 02 bays for the transmission line. For the 110kV side, equipment is installed for 01 main bay at AT2 transformer; the installation of control system – protection for newly-installed equipment is completed.
The connection line part is about 150 meters long, connecting the Ben Luc 220kV substation to circuit 2 of the Duc Hoa - Long An 220kV line.
Once completed, the project will help reduce load and avoid overload for transformer 220/110kV-250MVA at Long An 220kV substation, existing Phu Lam 500/220kV substation, transformer 220kV at Ben Luc 220kV substation and lines 110kV in the locality. Ensuring the safe and reliable operation of the 220kV and 110kV power grids in the N-1 normal and emergency modes, thereby improving the capacity of power supply to serve the economic and social development of Long An province.
Mr. Ly Ngoc Khanh - Deputy Director of the PTPMB said: The project was commenced on 28 June 2021, the progress approved by EVNNPT is expected to be completed and energized on 31 December 2022. However, because the Ben Luc 220kV substation always operates at a high load, being at risk of instability in operation, the PTPMB has accelerated the construction progress so that the project can be put into operation as soon as possible.
