EVN ensures power supply in Truong Sa, contributing to maintaining national security, protecting sovereignty and developing the maritime economy.
Due to its geographical location far from the mainland and including many islands, stretching over a large sea, supplying power to the Truong Sa archipelago and the DK1 rig will be much more difficult than on other islands. EVN's acceptance and operation of the clean energy and lighting system on the Truong Sa archipelago and the DK1 rig under the direction of the Government will create more favorable conditions for meeting the power demand and improving the quality of life, serving the people and troops on the islands and DK1 rigs, and at the same time contributing to improving the defense capacity effectiveness to protect the sacred sovereignty of the Fatherland’s maritime.
From 2017 up to now, EVN has regularly maintained investment and repaired the power system on the island, at the same time timely received power-use requests at island points in Truong Sa island district to ensure the uninterrupted and adequate power supply, contributing to maintaining national security and improving the lives of officers, soldiers and people on the island. To better perform the task of managing and operating the power system on islands and DK1 rigs, after reaching an agreement with the Naval Region 4 Command, the headquarters of Truong Sa Electricity (under Ninh Thuan Power Company) has been established, consolidated and put into operation since mid-2019.

In addition to ensuring power supply in Truong Sa island district, EVN has carried out many practical activities to support the army and people here. EVN and a number of member units have organized many delegations to visit Truong Sa, give gifts to the soldiers and people on the island and donate to the "Supporting Truong Sa" fund. This is proof of the affection, concern, support and practical help of tens of thousands of EVN officers and employees.
By the end of 2021, EVN has received, managed, operated and invested trillions of VND to ensure power supply in 11 island districts of the country, which are: Van Don, Co To (Quang Ninh), Cat Hai (Hai Phong), Ly Son (Quang Ngai), Phu Quy (Binh Thuan), Con Dao (Ba Ria - Vung Tau), Phu Quoc, Kien Hai (Kien Giang), Con Co (Quang Tri) and Truong Sa (Ninh Thuan). |
