In which, the support for the Education sector is more than VND 90 billion. Thereby, making an important contribution to maintaining the number of students, reducing the number of students dropping out of school, and improving the quality of education, etc.

Facing with the fact that it is very difficult for students in mountainous, remote and remote areas, especially in the rainy season and winter, EVN has supported 3 districts of Tan Uyen, Than Uyen, Phong Tho to build a total of 56 " boarding houses" in 16 communes, with a total cost of VND 28.6 billion. Ms. Tran Thi Hang - The principal of Doan Ket Primary School for Ethnic Minorities (Malipho Commune, Phong Tho District) shared that in the past, the school facilities lacked accommodation for students to perform boarding study. Meanwhile, many children live up to 15km far from school, so going home from school during the day is very difficult. This fact also greatly affects the attraction of children to attend classes. Since the day it was given a day-boarding room by EVN, the school has been more convenient in arranging accommodation for students, facilitating the school to mobilize students from areas to go to school, etc.

In parallel with supporting facilities, EVN has opened 3 training courses in electrical vocational colleges for 59 students who are children from poor households and policy households that meet the standards of educational qualifications. After graduation, based on the students' wishes, EVN has accepted 21 students to work at units in the industry (Lai Chau Power Company, Huoi Quang - Ban Chat Hydropower Company, Son La Hydropower Company, etc). Currently, most of them are still working in these units.

As one of the students receiving a vocational training program and being accepted to work in the power industry, Mr. Phung A Cung, who is currently the chief officer of Ban Chat Hydropower Plant (Huoi Quang - Ban Chat Hydropower Company), shared that his family's situation is extremely difficult, so his dream of attending college and university is really impossible. Fortunately, in 2010, he was sent to study by the power industry and after he had graduated, he was accepted to work at Huoi Quang - Ban Chat Hydropower Company. Now, he has a good job with a stable income and also works near his home.

In addition to the main support programs, EVN also implemented medical support activities, donated essential supplies for boarding students such as: buying health insurance for 4,278 students in the three school years 2009-2011; giving gifts to disadvantaged households, policy families, boarding school students; donated bookcases to 21 boarding schools, and so on.

Mr. Tran Tien Dung - Chairman of Lai Chau Provincial People's Committee affirmed that EVN's support has created favorable conditions to help students overcome difficulties, especially the learning conditions and environment, contributing to maintaining the number of students graduating from school; reducing the number of students dropping out of school, improving the quality of education, and strengthening the people's firm belief in the leadership of the Party.
