Krong Buk 220kV substation is upgraded to 500MVA

The AT1 transformer of this substation is upgraded from 125MVA to 250MVA, making an increase in the total capacity of the substation from 375MVA to 500MVA. The Central Power Project Management Board (CPMB) and relevant organizations have recently energized and put the project into operation.

AT1 220/110kV - 250MVA transformer of Krong Buk 220kV substation

Krong Buk 220kV substation upgrading project (Dak Lak province) is a component of the project to upgrade capacity of Quy Nhon, Nha Trang, Krong Buk, Bao Loc 220kV substations and upgrade capacity of 220kV transformer of Pleiku 500kV substation, invested by the National Power Transmission Corporation (EVNNPT) with a total investment cost of VND 262 billion. CPMB is assigned to manage the project.

The project scale is composed of replacing the existing 220/110kV - 125MVA AT1 transformer with a 220/110kV – 250MVA transformer; supplementing lightning arresters for 220kV busbars; replacing the existing circuit breakers and 110kV current transformers of the 110kV feeder of AT1 transformer in order to ensure the capacity of the new transformer; completing instrumentation, control, protection, SCADA and other related systems in accordance with the newly installed equipment of the substation.

The project will ensure safe and reliable electricity supply for Dak Lak province's load; strengthen the safety and stability of grid operation; reduce power losses and contribute to the improvement of power production and business efficiency of Viet Nam Electricity (EVN) and the National Power Transmission Corporation ( EVNNPT).
