Launching the Project of Power Supply from the National Grid for the Hamlets and Villages in Thai Nguyen Province

The launching ceremony was held by Thai Nguyen Power Company (Thai Nguyen PC) on August 19 in Dong Hy district of Thai Nguyen province.

The leaders of Thai Nguyen province, the leaders of EVN, EVNNPC and the people in the project area attended the ceremony.   

The project has a total investment of about VND 10.7 billion. According to the Rural, Mountainous and Island Power Supply Program for the period 2013-2020 approved by the Government, Thai Nguyen province strives to accomplish power supply for 35 off-grid hamlets and villages in the districts of Dong Hy and Vo Nhai until the middle of 2018.

At the ceremony, Mr. Vu Hong Bac, Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee and Chairman of the People’s Committee of Thai Nguyen province highly appreciated EVN and the Northern Power Corporation for their interest in investing in the  power supply project for the off-grid hamlets and villages in the province. He also requested Thai Nguyen Power Company to ensure the project to be completed as scheduled to supply power for the people and facilitate the social and economic development in the difficult communes of Thai Nguyen province.   

Project scope:

  • Supplying Power for nearly 700 households in 8 villages of Van Lang commune.
  • Including 4.56 km of medium-voltage lines; over 14 km of low voltage lines and 4 distribution substations.
  • Having a total investment of about VND 10.7 billion
  • Expected to be energized in early 2017
