This is an important event of the ASEAN Federation of Engineering Organizations, held alternately and annually among ASEAN countries. In 2020, the conference is hosted by the Vietnam Union of Science and Technology Associations (VUSTA).
The theme for the year 2020 of the conference is "Fostering initiatives and actions by the ASEAN Federation of Engineering Organizations to build a sustainable and prosperous ASEAN Community".
Presenting at the opening session, Vice President of EVN Ngo Son Hai emphasized: in recognition that the application of achievements of the 4th Industrial Revolution and the realization of the National Digital Transformation Program will have a great influence on the performance of EVN in the present and in the future, from an early stage, EVN had developed and implemented a project of research, development and application of technological advances of Industry 4.0 in EVN’s production and business activities.

At the same time, EVN has actively studied, implemented and applied studies and projects related to EVN's operation, production and business activities, step by step performing digital transformation in line with the direction of the Government issued at Decision No. 749/QD-TTg dated 3 June 2020 on approving the “National Digital Transformation Program until 2025, with a vision to 2030.”
EVN has been aggressively seizing opportunities to realize successfully the digital transformation process, with a very high determination from EVN’s leaders to those of member organizations. EVN strives to become a successful digital transformation enterprise by 2022, three years earlier than the original plan.
