Energizing and putting into operation Van Phong 220kV substation (Khanh Hoa province)

At 1h19 on 22 November 2020, the Central Power Project Management Board (CPMB) in coordination with related units successfully energized and put into operation Van Phong 220kV substation (Khanh Hoa province).

Van Phong 220kV substation successfully energized

This project was invested by the National Power Transmission Corporation (EVNNPT), managed by CPMB and its operation and management have been undertaken by Power Transmission Company 3.

The project has a total investment of nearly VND288 billion, including installation of Van Phong 220kV outdoor substation with a 220kV-250MVA transformer, four 220kV feeders, one 220kV total bay, one 220kV connecting circuit-breaker bay, six 110kV feeders, one 110kV total bay, one 110kV connecting circuit-breaker bay, one 22kV bay.

Along with that, CPMB has also installed two new sections of 220kV double-circuit power line with a length of about 265m connected to existing Tuy Hoa-Nha Trang 220kV line; installed a one-circuit 22kV transmission line with a length of 889.5m, to supply electricity to the substation.

Energizing and putting into operation of Van Phong 220kV substation will improve reliability, ensure power supply for the development of Ninh Hoa town area and a part of Van Phong economic zone, to meet socio-economic development needs of Khanh Hoa province. In addition, the project also enables connection of renewable energy sources (solar power) in the region to the national power system.
