Many important cooperation agreements signed between Vietnam Electricity and Vietnam Oil and Gas Group

On October 4, in Hanoi, Vietnam Electricity (EVN), Vietnam Oil and Gas Group (PVN), and their member units organized a working program and signed Power Purchase Agreements for Nhon Trach 3 and 4 power plants, a Memorandum of Understanding on supplying LNG from Vung Ang 1 LNG terminal to Quang Trach II LNG Power Plant.

Attending the program were representatives of the Electricity Regulatory Authority, Ministry of Industry and Trade, relevant ministries and authorities.

On the side of the two Groups, there were Mr. Dang Hoang An - Chairman of EVN's Board of Directors, Mr. Le Manh Hung - Chairman of PVN's Board of Directors, along with members of Boards of Directors and Boards of Executive Management; And representatives of member units of EVN and PVN.

At the program, the signing ceremony of Power Purchase Agreements (PPA) for Nhon Trach 3 and 4 Power Plants took place between PetroVietnam Power Corporation (PV Power) and Power Trading Company (EVNEPTC). The signing of PPAs not only marks a critical milestone and is an important condition for Nhon Trach 3 and 4 Power Plants to come into commercial operation but also creates a premise and orientation for the negotiation of PPAs for other LNG power projects in the Power Development Plan VIII.

Delegates also witnessed the signing ceremony of a Memorandum of Understanding on LNG supply from Vung Ang 1 LNG terminal to Quang Trach II LNG Power Plant between Vietnam Gas Corporation (PVN GAS) and EVN. The Memorandum of Understanding aims to maximize the capabilities and take advantage of each Party's strengths in supplying LNG from the Vung Ang LNG terminal to the Quang Trach II LNG Power Plant project following the schedule and implementation plan of Power Development Plan VIII.

Quang Trach II LNG Power Plant project, invested by EVN, is part of PDP VIII approved by the Prime Minister, converting fuel from coal to LNG, increasing total capacity from 1,200MW to 1,500MW, using combined cycle gas turbine technology, with a total investment cost of about VND 52,490 billion.
