Ministry of Inspection of Cambodia’s delegation visits and works at Vietnam Electricity

On December 14, in Hanoi, EVN’s Vice President Vo Quang Lam welcomed and worked with the Cambodian Ministry of Inspection delegation led by Ms. Hem Marina - Deputy Director General of the General Inspectorate of Cambodia.

In recent times, EVN and the Cambodian energy industry have built a sustainable cooperation relationship in energy trading in border areas, towards the common goal of sustainable development, contributing to the socio-economic development of the two countries.

At the meeting, EVN introduced the Group's development process. Currently, EVN is serving more than 30.35 million customers nationwide, with power sales of about 242 billion kWh in 2022. EVN has been implementing electricity import and export activities with China, Laos, and Cambodia.

The power system of Vietnam with the total installed capacity reaching more than 80,000 MW is the largest in terms of scale in Southeast Asia, with a diverse power mix including hydropower, thermal power, renewable energy, biomass, etc.

On this occasion, EVN also presented the audit-supervision system and inspection system within the Group.

Ms. Hem Marina - Deputy Director General of the General Inspectorate expressed her joy when visiting and working with EVN - one of Vietnam's largest groups and thanked the EVN leader for warmly welcoming the delegation.

Ms. Hem Marina highly appreciated the good and long-term cooperation between EVN and Cambodia in the energy area, accordingly EVN promptly exported electricity to Cambodia, especially during the electricity shortage in Cambodia.

At the meeting, Ms. Hem Marina also introduced the development process, functions, tasks, and outstanding activities of the Ministry of Inspection of Cambodia (formerly the Ministry of Relations with the National Assembly, Senate, and Inspectorate of Cambodia).

Through the visit and the meeting with EVN, Ms. Hem Marina expressed her impression on the scale, development, and modernization process of Vietnam's power sector. She also viewed that Vietnam's innovation and modernization of the power sector is in line with the power sector development initiative recently proposed by the new Prime Minister. Through the visit, the delegation expected to gain more experience and thus contribute to Cambodia's power sector development plan in the coming time.
