In particular, in the first 6 months of 2020 alone, there were 2,575 works installed, with a total capacity of 39.91MWp.
Mr. Bui Trung Kien - Deputy General Director of EVNHCMC said that, recently, the Corporation has implemented many solutions to promote rooftop solar power in the selected area of development.
In parallel with promoting communications to help customers clearly realize the practical benefits of rooftop solar power, EVNHCMC has created most favourable conditions for customers to receive electricity purchase requests, test systems to ensure safety, install meter readings free of charge, etc. In addition, the Corporation has provided customers solutions to enable the system to operate with the highest efficiency after installation.
The potential of rooftop solar power in export processing zones and industrial parks in Ho Chi Minh City is huge, with about 2,000MWp.
In order to exploit the potential in these areas, EVNHCMC signed a memorandum of understanding with the Association of Ho Chi Minh City Industrial Park Enterprises; Management Board of industrial parks and export processing zones in Ho Chi Minh City. Accordingly, the parties will coordinate to promote communications, pay a working visit to each export processing zone - industrial park, each enterprise, organize seminars to help businesses understand the State's guidelines in RSP development as well as practical benefits of this model.
It is targeted by EVNHCMC, until 2025, that there will be about 1000MWp capacity installed in industrial parks, export processing zones in the locality.
