Delegates performing the ritual to mount the signboard of youth project at the Central Business Sector’s Youth Union level to celebrate the 3rd Vietnam Electricity's Party Congress.
Vietnam Electricity (EVN) has assigned the National Power Transmission Corporation (EVNNPT) to be the investor of the project of installing the second 500kV - 900MVA transformer at My Tho 500kV substation. The Southern Project Management Board (SPMB, under EVNNPT) manages and implements the project. Power Transmission Company No.4 takes over and operates the project after the project is completed.
The project was started in November 2019 and completed on May 29, 2020. My Tho 500kV substation has been upgraded from 900MVA to 1,800MVA.
The newly installed transformer will reduce the load of AT1 500kV transformer at the substation, and at the same time alleviate the load of 500kV transformers at O Mon, Nha Be and Phu Lam 500kV substations. This is an important and urgent project to enhance the evacuation of power from power centers in the Southwest region of Vietnam; meeting N-1 criterion; improving reliability and safety of power supply; meeting the needs of socio-economic development for the South in general.
Mr. Nguyen Huu Tuan - Permanent Deputy Secretary of EVN's Party Committee spoke at the ceremony
According to Mr. Nguyen Huu Tuan - Permanent Deputy Secretary of EVN's Party Committee, over the past time, despite being affected by Covid-19 pandemic, EVNNPT has secured the implementation progress of the project to put the project into operation before the hot season. This success has been considerably attributed to the youth union of the Western Power Transmission 2 who have actively registered to implement "Supervising, accepting and compiling the operation procedure for the extended AT2 500kV transformer at My Tho 500kV substation”.
