Nearly 47% of EVN's customers use electric non-cash payment

Convenient and advantageous in many ways, non-cash payment is increasingly accepted by its customers. By the end of 2019, 46.54% of EVN's electricity customers nationwide had chosen this form of payment.

Ly Tu Trong Primary School located in Ea Kuêh, a remote commune of Cu M’gar district, Dak Lak province, has used the online electric payment method.

Ms. Phan Ha (Nam Tu Liem District, Hanoi City) is very pleased to be able to pay electricity bills with auto debt for her parents living in the countryside (Ky Anh district, Ha Tinh province).

These are just two typical examples of the utility of electricity bill non-cash payment methods, which have been implemented by EVN and EVN’s power corporations in all regions of the country.

Non-cash payment creates synchronization and convenience when deploying level 4 public services and electronic contracts. For illustration

According to Minister Mai Tien Dung, Chairman of the Government Office, EVN has recently performed well electricity bill non-cash payment. In 2019, EVN had the rate of electricity bill non-cash payment reaching 46.54% of its customers (exceeding 3.06% compared to the requirements in the Government's Resolution 02/NQ-CP) and over 87% of total revenue from electricity sales.

With these outstanding results, electricity bill payment has been one of the first three electricity services that the Government has allowed to be integrated and provided on the National Public Service Portal when it opened on 9 December, 2019.

Online electricity bill payment method is very simple and brings "exponential" benefits to both customers and the power industry, as well as to the society, namely: Saving time and effort; creating convenience when deploying level 4 public services and electronic contracts; reducing operation costs of businesses in the power industry. In addition, it also gives transparency in payment activities in the economy; contributes to improving the efficiency of management and supervision by state agencies, etc.

Since 2013, EVN has been the first enterprise in the country to apply electronic bill to customers nationwide. EVN has strengthened cooperation with banks and payment intermediaries to set up diversified payment channels for customers. Since 2017, there has been no employee from power company going to customers’ premises to collect their payment of electricity bills.

Implementing the Project on developing non-cash payment in Vietnam in the period of 2016 - 2020 and the tasks assigned by the Government, EVN will continue to promote and encourage customers to use non-cash payment methods. EVN aims to have a ratio of 50% non-cash payment by customers by 2020 and 75% by 2025.
