Se San Hydropower Development Company receives Third-class Labor Order

Se San Hydropower Development Company celebrated its 10 years of establishment (January 29, 2010 - January 29, 2020) and received a Third-class Labor Order, on January 31, 2020, in Pleiku city (Gia Lai province).

At the ceremony, Mr. Do Tien Dong, Vice Chairman of Gia Lai Provincial People's Committee, congratulated achievements of Se San Hydropower Development Company for having safely and efficiently managed and operated Se San 4 Hydropower Plant with a total capacity of 360MW (one of the national key projects, the second largest on the Se San river cascade hydropower system).

After 10 years of operation, the power plant has generated nearly 14TWh to the national power grid and contributed VND2,132 billion to the state budget, including VND932 billion to Gia Lai province. At the same time, the plant has contributed to regulating the water resource in dry seasons, operating the reservoir to diminish floods for the downstream areas of Se San river in Vietnam and Cambodia in rainy seasons in a safe manner, and stabilizing production activities of the people in the downstream areas.

Vice Chairman of Gia Lai Provincial People's Committee Do Tien Dong, on behalf of the President of Vietnam, awarding Third-class Labor Order on the Board of Directors of Se San Hydropower Development Company and gaving them flowers as congratulations.

Speaking at the ceremony, EVN's Chairman Duong Quang Thanh emphasized that safe and efficient operation of the plant is an important task of EVN, contributing to ensuring power supply for the national socio-economic development.

Since its establishment, despite facing many difficulties due to the location of the power plant adjacent to the border, which potentially poses a threat to the national security, with difficult transportation conditions and abnormal weather conditions, the leaders and employees of the company have united and strived to implement synchronous solutions to safely and efficiently operate the power plant.

These optimistic results have been recognized and highly appreciated by the Party, the State, the Government, ministries, authorities and EVN.

Along with that trust, the company continues to be assigned by Vietnam Electricity to effectively manage and operate Se San 4 solar power plant with a capacity of 49MWp which will be put into operation in the third quarter of 2020. The project, once completed, will annually add 72.4GWh to the national power system, contributing to the development of the country's clean energy sources.
