EVN’s Vice President Pham Hong Phuong gave a speech at the Conference
EVN’s Vice President Pham Hong Phuong highly appreciated the efforts of Son La Hydropower Company in managing and operating safely and effectively two hydropower plants Son La and Lai Chau. These two large hydropower power plants play an important role in ensuring electricity supply for the country, while promoting socio-economic development of the Northwest region.
In 2020, the Vice President requested Son La Hydropower Company to keep on effectively managing and operating the power plants, especially in the context of abnormal happenings of hydrological conditions as recently. At the same time, the Company must operate the reservoirs in accordance with the inter-reservoir operation procedure in the Red River basin; comply with operation modes of the National Load Dispatch Center. The Company should pay attention to the management of project quality and reservoir protection corridors according to the current regulations.
In addition, the Company needs to continue coordinating closely with local authorities in ensuring security at these two key projects of national security.
EVN’s Vice President Pham Hong Phuong awarded Certificates of Merit of the Commission of the Management of State Capital at Enterprises to collectives and individuals of Son La Hydropower Company who got outstanding achievements in 2019.
Reporting at the Conference, Mr. Khuong The Anh - Director of Son La Hydropower Company said: In 2019, the water flow in the reservoirs was very low. The total electricity generation output of the two plants reached 9.245 billion kWh, reaching 100.05% of the plan assigned by EVN. However, compared to the average generation output for many years, in 2019 Son La Hydropower Plant and Lai Chau Hydropower Plant reached only 71.4% and 56% respectively.
In 2020, the Company sets targets to produce an electricity output of and exceeding 11.76 billion kWh, at the same time to operate two power plants safely and effectively in accordance with regulations and reservoir operation procedures, so as not to have any incidents or labor accidents due to subjective reasons. The company will maintain their close coordination with ministries, agencies and local authorities in regulating and utilizing the water resource in the most efficient manner for power generation and water supply for downstream areas.
Many collectives and individuals of Son La Hydropower Company successfully completed the tasks in 2019 and received Certificates of Merit from Vietnam Electricity.
To achieve the above mentioned targets, one of the Company's solutions is to ask for EVN’s agreement for implementing the “Plan on real-time operation of reservoirs on the Da and Gam river hydropower cascades'' to optimally exploit the water resource and improve the power generation efficiency.
The company will strengthen the training and retraining of its human resource; perform the bidding, procurement of materials and equipment and outsourced services in accordance with the production plan; ensure the availability, meet the maintenance and repair plan, remedy incidents when unexpected situations occur, etc.
