Online electricity service provision: facilitating customers

Customers do not need to come to power offices for registering electricity services, they can easily use such services at home. This is one of the dominant advantages of the electrical online services provided by Hanoi Electricity Corporation (EVNHANOI) for the customers in Hanoi capital. Whereby, EVNHANOI is aiming to promote the application of science and technology in business so as to bring the most convenience to people.

Mr. Phung Manh Tien, Technical Manager of Industrial Construction and Assembly Joint Stock Company and the owner of a workshop manufacturing components for construction and assembly on the land lot of over 150m2 in Thach Ban Ward, Long Bien District. Mr. Tien's workshop shall use 3-phase power source to serve the manufacturing activities. After having studying on online forums, Mr. Tien accessed the website of EVNHANOI to complete the registration procedures for 3-phase power supply.

"About 40 minutes after having completed the online registration, he received a phone call from the Power Industry announcing that its staff will come to investigate, make plan for the 3-phase power supply at site. The time duration from the registration until the completion of power line is less than 5 days. After the work accomplishment, the operator of EVNHANOI called Mr. Tien to inquire about the service attitude of the electricians and to advise him to contact the customer service center for support.

Ms. Vu Thi Anh Huyen, in Khuong Trung Ward (Thanh Xuan District) carefully prepared photocopies and notarized public certificates, household registration book and ID card and certification from the head of residential quarter to prepare for the new meter installation records.

However, after calling the EVNHANOI switchboard to ask about the new power supply procedures, Ms. Huyen was surprised when the electricians came to conduct the site investigation, take photographs of my papers without requesting any additional photocopies or notarized certificates. Just over a day, a new meter was installed for Ms. Huyen's house, etc.

According to Mr. Nguyen Xuan Thang, the Head of EVNHANOI Sales Department, together with the promotion of the application of science and technology in activities of production, business and customer care, by June 2018, all the information of 32/32 electric services of the Corporation has been posted on the internet, helping customers to access the needed information  faster and more simply.

Regarding the new power supply, customers are not required to prepare the photocopy of the relevant papers, documents. The Power Company will electronically store customer records on the electronic power supply management software. The procedures, orders and expenses for the new power supply of the Corporation are all listed on the website,, at the customer transaction offices of the power company, offices of power management teams. All inquiries from customers are verified, confirmed and fully updated in the online electronic monitor system to ensure the accuracy, publicity and transparency.

In the coming time, EVNHANOI will continue to develop flexible payment functions in easier, more convenient manner such as payment at transaction offices of banks, bank transfer, or internet banking through 14 banks co-operating with the Corporation.

The electric services are provided online such as: registration of low voltage electricity purchase, medium voltage power supply; monitoring of power supply; temporary power outage schedule and indicator recording schedule, collection points and forms of bill payment, electricity price information, power indicators, consumption situation, etc. In addition, there are services: consultancy for safe and efficient electricity use; registration for changing customer’s e-mail/phone number for SMS reception; power failure notification; change in subject of the contract, change in electricity use purpose, etc.
