Power production of the whole system in February 2022 reached 18.6 billion kWh, up 14.9% over the same period in 2021. Accumulated in 2 months reached 39.59 billion kWh, up 6.1% over the same period. In which, the mobilization rate of some main sources is as follows:
+ Hydropower reached 10.85 billion kWh, accounting for 27.4% of the total power output of the whole system.
+ Coal-thermal power reached 17.27 billion kWh, accounting for 43.6% of the total power production of the whole system.
+ Gas turbines reached 4.38 billion kWh, accounting for 11.1% of the total power production of the whole system.
+ Renewable energy (wind power, solar power, biomass power) reached 6.65 billion kWh, accounting for 16.8% of the total power production of the whole system (solar power reached 4.33 billion kWh, wind power reached 2.21 billion kWh).
+ Imported electricity reached 318 million kWh, accounting for 0.8% of the total power production of the whole system.
In the first two months of 2022, the power produced by EVN and Power Generation Corporations (including joint-stock companies) reached 15.86 billion kWh, accounting for 40.06% of the whole system power production. Power transmission output in February 2022 reached 13.49 billion kWh. Accumulated in the first 2 months of 2022, transmission power output reached 29.75 billion kWh, up 3.3% over the same period in 2021.
The commercial power output of EVN in February 2022 is estimated at 17.28 billion kWh, up 9.27% compared to February 2021. Accumulated 2 months of 2022 reached 35.90 billion kWh, up 6.84% over the same period in 2021.
In the first two months of the year, EVN organized flexibly operating hydropower plants to supplement water sources at the request of the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development and significantly saved discharge water, and at the same time ensured power supply for pumping and in-field pumping stations to serve the rice cultivation of the 2021-2022 Winter-Spring crop. In total three phases of water discharge, EVN's hydropower reservoirs have discharged 4.24 billion m3 of water (phase 1: 1.1 billion m3; phase 2: 2.44 billion m3; phase 3: 0.8 billion m3) to provide sufficient water to serve the rice cultivation of the 2021-2022 Winter-Spring crop for the Northern Midlands and Delta provinces. Compared with the original plan, the total amount of discharge water saved about 1.33 billion m3.
Regarding business and customer service: By the end of February 2022, the rate of customers using non-cash electricity bills payment reached 84.26%; the rate of non-cash electricity bills payment throughout EVN reached 95.34%.
Regarding construction investment:
+ Power source: continue to execute the construction of Expanded Ialy Power Plant, Bac Ai Pumped-storage Power Plant, Quang Trach Power Center infrastructure project.
+ Power grid: In the first 2 months of 2022, EVN and its units have commenced 5 projects and completed energizing and putting into operation 9 power grid projects from 110kV to 500kV (including 01 500kV, 01 220kV and 07 110kV power projects), including a special-grade energy project - the West Hanoi - Thuong Tin 500kV transmission line project.
Some objectives and tasks of EVN in March 2022
In March 2022, it is expected that the average daily power consumption of the whole system will be 752.8 million kWh/day, the highest load capacity is estimated at 39,729MW.
The power system operation objective in March 2022 is: to continue to perform well in safe and flexible adaptation to the developments of the COVID-19 pandemic to ensure the power production and supply for production and business activities and people's activities.
Regarding mobilizing power sources:
+ Coal-fired thermal power: Mobilizing coal-fired power in the North to ensure that the Northern hydropower reservoirs keep the water level as high as possible. Keep at least one unit per plant to ensure self-use and thermal systems for coal-fired power plants in the South to properly exploit renewable energy.
+ Hydropower is regulated according to the following principles: Ensuring the safe operation of the power grid; ensuring downstream water supply; keeping the high-level water in the Northern hydropower reservoirs, regulating the water level in the Central and the Southern hydropower reservoirs according to the annual operation plan.
+ Gas turbine: Mobilize according to system needs.
Regarding construction investment: Continue to urge construction units to closely follow the power source and grid project plan, especially urgent power grid works serving the dry season power supply in 2022, etc.
Regarding other activities: Continue to closely follow the Government Office and the Commission for the Management of State Capital at Enterprises (CMSC) on the procedures for submitting to EVNGENCO1 for equitization; organize communication activities on Earth Hour 2022 and Youth Month, prepare to summarize the implementation of the Government's Resolution 30a program on supporting poor districts of Lai Chau province.
