Over 45,000 Households across Soc Trang Province Are Connected to National Power Grid

In the morning of August 23, in the province of Soc Trang, the Southern Power Corporation (EVNSPC) celebrated the completion of the project to supply power for off-grid households, mainly Khmer people of Soc Trang province.

The project had a total investment of over VND 446 billion and was divided into three phases.  Over 5 years of development, the construction contractors have completed nearly 2,000 km of the medium and low voltage lines and supplied power from the national grid for 45,408 households (increasing 25,000 households compared with the original plan). The completed project raised the total number of households that have been connected to electricity in the province to more than 98%. With the focus on completing and energizing each project item, EVNSPC satisfied the power demand of the people in the province of Soc Trang in a timely manner.

Thanks to this project, many more families have power for the living and production activities, which help to promote the efficiency of sustainable poverty alleviation program for the local Khmer households.

Project scale:

* Medium voltage lines: 478.35 km (increasing by 174.65 km compared with the original plan)

* Low voltage lines: 1,146 km (increasing by 279.4 km compared with the original plan)

* Substation/capacity: 823 substation/ 18,095 kVA (increasing by 324 substations with capacity of 7,335 kVA compared with the original plan)

* Service connections: 45,408 households (increasing by 25,020 households compared with the original plan)

* Total investment: VND 446.929 billion
