After the commissioning period, on April 29, 2017, the power unit No. 3 of Trung Son Hydropower Plant was successfully integrated into the power grid. As of May 3, 2017, three power units of Trung Son Hydropower Plant have generated 84.15 billion kWh, timely supplying an electricity generation source to the power system in the hot and sunny season 2017.
This achievement is one of the prerequisite milestones to ensure that the completion and operation schedule of the remaining power unit and the whole project will be in August 2017 as targeted.
Trung Son Hydropower Project has the total investment cost of more than USD 410 million, being constructed on Ma river, at Trung Son commune, Quan Hoa district, Thanh Hoa province.
The project’s main objectives are to supply electricity to the national power system, to contribute to flood control in rainy seasons and water supply in dry seasons for Thanh Hoa province, to promote the local socio – economic development, to secure national security and defense in the West Thanh Hoa area.
