President Tran Dai Quang visited and wished Happy Lunar New Year to official and staff of 220kV substation in Tay Ho (under Hanoi Power Corporation) and National Load Dispatch Center. At the EVN headquarter, the program is online connected to seven sites, including Hoa Binh, Son La, Lai Chau, Tri An hydropower plants and Hiep Hoa, Da Nang, Phu Lam 500 kV substations.
The president affirmed that despite of facing many difficulties and challenges, natural disasters and storms, floods with high frequency in the year 2017, causing great impacts on the country's production and business activities in general, in which EVN is one of the units suffering heavy losses, but the Group has made efforts to overcome and ensure sufficient supply of electricity for the country's socio-economic development and daily life of people.
In 2017, EVN supplied enough power for the socio-economic development of the country with commercial power output reaching over 174 billion kWh; the rate of total power loss of the Group was 7.24%, 0.23% lower than the plan. In particular, electricity access index has made a breakthrough, rising 32 levels compared to the 2016 and ranking 64/190 countries/economies.
EVN has supplied power to 99.98% of communes and 98.83% of rural households in the whole country. EVN closely cooperated with the Naval Command, the construction units to overcome all difficulties in weather conditions, promptly completed repairing and replacing batteries and equipment of the clean energy and lighting systems on the islands, ensured 24/24 power supply in order to contribute to maintaining the security of the marine and island sovereignty, ensuring a warm and sufficient Tet holiday for soldiers and people in the Spartly Archipelago (Trường Sa).
In 2018, EVN focuses on three strategic breakthroughs: institutional completion; construction of electricity infrastructure; improvement of human resource quality so as to ensure that by year 2020, the Group will be ranked in the top 4 leading power groups of ASEAN.
