Power Project Management Board No.1 in collaboration with the local authorities of Nghe An province investigated the current forest land status to implement Nam Mo - Tuong Duong 220kV transmission line project.
This is also an issue mentioned in the report of appraisal, proposals and recommendations of the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development at Document No. 5383/BNN-TCLN dated 24 August 2021.
The Prime Minister's approval of the forest use purpose changing policy is an important foundation for Power Project Management Board No.1 (under EVN) to coordinate with relevant agencies in realizing the change of forest use purpose, implementing the compensation and site clearance to meet the requirements for construction commencement and project implementation according to the approved schedule.
The feasibility study of Nam Mo - Tuong Duong 220kV transmission line project has been approved by Vietnam Electricity at Decision 400/QD-EVN dated 30 March 2021. This is one of the first projects of EVN for which the survey and document development on the forest use purpose changing decision has been performed in compliance with Decree No. 83/2020/ND-CP dated 15 July 2020 of the Government.
The construction investment objective of the project is to fulfill the bilateral commitment on the cooperation relationship between the Governments of Vietnam and Laos in the field of energy development, in which electricity is imported from the Nam Mo Hydropower Plant cluster (in Laos) to Vietnam.
The project has a total length of about 74.4km of a dual-circuit 220kV transmission line, from Vietnam - Laos border to Tuong Duong 220kV substation, passing through two Tuong Duong and Ky Son districts of Nghe An province. As planned, the project shall start construction in the fourth quarter of 2021 and complete in the fourth quarter of 2022.
