Optimistic progress
Mr. Nguyen Dinh Tho - Deputy Director of CPMB said: Right after the local authorities completed handing over the ground for the Van Phong 500kV substation, the project construction has been instantly deployed. As of September 20, many important construction items were finished. The contractor has already prepared a detailed plan of construction and installation as soon as the transformer is delivered (expected in early October 2022). A secondary cable has been strung to get ready for being connected to the transformer cabinet.

As for the 220kV connection line, the plan for compensation, payment and land acquisition of 62/62 foundation positions has been approved. Land acquisition has been finished at the right of way of 60/62 tower spans. Currently, CPMB has been coordinating with the Center for Land Fund Development and the Commune People's Committee to proceed with the compensation payment for land acquisition at the remaining positions. Regarding the construction progress of the connection line, so far, the foundation excavation and casting have been completed at all positions, towers have been erected at 62/66 positions, and 19.1/26.2 km of lines have been strung.
As for Van Phong - Vinh Tan 500kV transmission line project, up to now, land acquisition has been completed at 304/304 foundation positions. Regarding the rights of way, Khanh Hoa province has handed over 172/172 tower spans; Ninh Thuan province handed over 125/132 tower spans (reaching 94.6%). In terms of construction volume, foundations at all 304/304 positions have been fully excavated, finishing casting foundations at 299/304 positions, completing tower installation at 269/304 positions, stringing lines at 23/79 anchorages.
Regarding the progress of the 500kV transmission line connecting Thuan Nam 500kV substation to Van Phong - Vinh Tan 500kV transmission line, the foundation excavation and casting have been completed at 3/3 foundation positions, erecting towers at 2/3 positions, constructing 0.8 /1.27 km of transmission lines.

At the meeting, leaders of contractors all were committed to speeding up the project progress to reach the following targets: basically completing Van Phong 500kV substation and the connection line in October, basically completing the stringing Van Phong - Vinh Tan 500kV transmission line project in mid-November.
These projects are very important to evacuate the power of Van Phong 1 BOT Thermal Power Plant by the end of 2022. At the same time, the projects contribute to the integration of renewable energy sources in the region into the national power system.
