Director of EVNNLDC Nguyen Duc Ninh (standing) reporting at the meeting
Reporting at the meeting, Director of EVNNLDC Nguyen Duc Ninh said that EVNNLDC is implementing four tasks related to the application of technologies of the Fourth Industrial Revolution into the Center's activities. Two tasks were expected to be completed in 2020, including: Implementation of an automated generation control (AGC) system that communicates and exchanges data with the power system and electricity market operation planning systems; Implementation of a large-scale surveillance and big data processing system in information collection and incident control in operating the power system, planning the power system and electricity market.
Concerning the task of "Research and application of big data technology, AI in forecasting the demands of the national, the regional power systems and those of the power corporations", Chairman Duong Quang Thanh required EVNNLDC to focus in forecasting short-term demands (of one year or less) and to build a shared data structure, connecting EVNNLDC with the units in EVN.
In addition, Chairman Duong Quang Thanh required EVNNLDC to coordinate with the Information Technology Centre of Vietnam Electricity to study on the security of the power system, ensuring the power system to operate in absolute safety; researching a power system dispatching model in the period 2021-2030, with a vision to 2045, consistent with the National Power Development Plan VIII under construction.
4 tasks of implementing EVNNLDC's IR 4.0 application:
1. Research and application of big data, AI technologies in forecasting power demands of the national, regional power systems and those of power corporations;
2. Implementation of an automatic generation control system (AGC) that communicates and exchanges data with the power system and the electricity market operation planning systems;
3. Implementation of a large-scale surveillance and big data processing system in information collection and incident control in power system operation, planning of the power system and electricity market;
4. Deploying EMS applications with real-time operation for optimal calculation of power flows in MW/MVAr in the power system, supporting the organization and automatic control of voltage/reactive power by decentralization.
