Signing contract for 2 transmission project construction and installation packages to serve the electricity import from Laos to Vietnam

On 31 March 2022, in Hanoi, Power Project Management Board 2 (EVNPMB 2) organized the signing of Contract “Equipment provision, facilities construction and installation, and equipment testing and adjustment in Bo Y 220kV switching substation and 220kV power lines connecting Nam Kong 1, 2, 3 Hydropower Plant Cluster (Laos) to the Vietnamese power system” and Contract "Engineering Procurement and Construction (EPC)" project of Dak Ooc 220kV switching substation and 220kV power lines connecting Nam Emoun Hydropower Plant (Laos) to the Vietnamese power system".
EVNPMB 2 and the contractor consortium signed contracts on 31 March 2022
The project of Bo Y 220kV switching substation and 220kV power lines connecting Nam Kong 1, 2, 3 Hydropower Plant Cluster (Laos) to the Vietnamese power system, was invested and constructed in Ngoc Hoi district, Kon Tum province. The project is expected to complete and energize in the fourth quarter of 2022. In which, Bo Y 220kV switching substation includes ten 220kV bays, in this phase installation of five feeder bays and one linking switching bay.
The project of Dak Ooc 220kV switching substation and 220kV power lines connecting Nam Emoun Hydropower Plant (Laos) to the Vietnamese power system, is invested and constructed in Nam Giang district, Quang Nam province. The project is expected to complete and energize in the first quarter of 2023.
The above two projects are invested and constructed according to the bilateral commitment to the cooperation relationship between the Governments of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam and the Lao People's Democratic Republic in energy development, serving the power import from the Nam Kong 1, 2, 3 and Nam Emoun hydropower plant cluster (Laos) to Vietnam.
Both projects are invested by Vietnam Electricity; managed by EVNPMB 2.
