Son La: Inauguration of power supply project from the national grid for over 8,000 households

On December 17th 2016, in Chieng Bom commune, Thuan Chau district, Son La province, EVNNPC organized the inauguration ceremony of the project to supply power from the national grid for off-grid households of Son La province in 2015 and 2016. The project supplies power to more than 8,144 households in 120 villages, 9 communes of Mai Son, Thuan Chau and Song Ma districts.

As stated by Cam Van Giao- Director of Son La Power Company, with the investment capital of VND 221 billion, the project has contributed to increasing the number of electrified households of the province in 2016 to 89.7% and aiming at 97.5% by 2020.

Although the project was implemented in areas of extreme difficulties, the transportation of materials and equipment and construction work faced many challenges, the project was completed on required schedule and quality.

At the ceremony, Cam Ngoc Minh- Son La province’s Communist Party Deputy Secretary and Chairman of the People’s committee affirmed in his speech that this was an important event, bringing the new prospects to boost the social-economic development, economic structure transferring, ensuring social security, contributing to successfully fulfilling the 14th provincial Party congress resolution.

EVNNPC also organized the Lauching ceremony of the project to supply power for  off-grid households living in 04 districts of Thuan Chau, Muong La, Bac Yen, Phu Yen of Son La province. With the total investment of 387 billion dongs, the project was expected to complete in 2018 to supply power to more than 4,700 households. This is the project of power sector showing humanity and gratitude for people in the 4 districts of Thuan Chau, Muong La, Bac Yen, Phu Yen – where the largest number of households have been relocated during the construction of Hoa Binh and Son La hydropower plants.

Also, at the ceremony, EVNNPC gave 100 gifts as an appreciation of “extending trust, giving love” to 100 households (EVN’s power customers) in Chieng Bom commune.
