Studies on solar power development potential in Hanoi

The People's Committee of Hanoi has assigned relevant departments, organizations, agencies and local authorities to conduct studies and assessment of solar power potential in execution of Decision No. 11/2017/QD-TTg dated April 11, 2017 issued by the Prime Minister on incentive policies for developing solar power projects in Vietnam.

Accordingly, the People's Committee of Hanoi has assigned the Department of Industry and Trade to study and evaluate the potential of solar energy in the city. The outcomes then will be used as a basis for proposing and developing a Solar power development master plan in Hanoi during the period until 2020, with vision to 2030 (if potential).

The Department of Construction shall assume the prime responsibility and coordinate with the Department of Industry and Trade and other relevant bodies in proposing and determining locations, areas and boundaries of buildings for development of solar power projects; in their authority, responsible for appraisal of documentations, designs and cost estimates of rooftop solar power projects.

Hanoi Power Corporation, solar energy project owners, relevant organizations and individuals shall comply with legal regulations on investment in and construction of solar power projects, connection of solar power projects into the power grid, etc. according to the Prime Minister's Decision No. 11/2017/QD-TTg dated April 11, 2017 and guidance documents of the Ministry of Industry and Trade.
