The generator’s rotor of Unit 2, Trung Son hydropower plant weighs 250 tons, and 7.5m in diameter. Before installing the rotor, the contractor has completed the installation of turbine, stator, crane, lifting equipment system, insulation testing, etc.

According to the Project Management Board (PMB), this is an important milestone, marking the efforts by the whole PMB and contractors in constructing the plant and is also an significant starting point for generating power upon operation of Units 1 and 2 in the first quarter of 2017 after water being stored for the reservoir (at the end of December 2016).
Right after the successful installation of the rotor for Unit 2, the Project Management Board of Trung Son Hydropower Plant requested the contractors to complete the supporting work items so as to guarantee power generating progress. The contractors were also requested to assemble equipment for Units 3 and 4 to install the rotor soon, meeting the goal of power supply in the dry season of 2017.
