The total power sales of the country grew by more than 9% in the first four months

According to the Business Department of Vietnam Electricity, the total power sales of the country in April 2017 is estimated at 14.54 billion kWh; aggregating four months from January to April, the total power sales of the country reached approximately 52.74  billion kWh, increased by 9.06% compared with the same period of 2016.

During the first four months in 2017, the highest growth of power sales was witnessed in the North which reached 11.2% which was caused by a steadily increasing growth of the industries. The power sales of the Centre and the South grew by 7.55% and 7.54% correspondingly.

From the load categories perspective, the industrial customer category consumed 54.9% of the total electricity consumption, i.e a 12% growth in comparison with the same period last year. The power sales to the agricultural customer category represented 2.9%, went up by 16.26%; that of the trading, hotel – restaurant customer category made up 5.2%, rose by 8.76%; an the portion of management and residential customer category constituted 32.5%, grew by 4.33%.

The Business Department of Vietnam Electricity added that Vietnam Electricity has secured sufficient electricity supply to satisfy the electricity demand for production and residential uses of the people, especially secured safe and stable electricity supply during the national holidays in April 30 and May 1 all over the country.
