The cooperation agreement between VEEA and EVN was represented and signed by Mr. Mai Quoc Hoi - Vice President cum General Secretary of VEEA and Mr. Tran Dinh Nhan - President and CEO of EVN. The cooperation agreement is valid for 5 years from the date of signing.
The cooperation goal is to promote the potential and strengths of each party, to effectively implement cooperation programs, goals, and missions, together towards long-term, sustainable development in line with the development goals and directions of each party.
Specific areas of cooperation include strategy and planning of development; study and proposal of mechanisms, policies, standards, and technical regulations; opponency of programs, projects, and legal documents; specialist training; organization of seminars and propaganda; scientific and technological research and environmental protection, etc, on electricity or related to electricity.
Some outstanding activities of VEEA in the past 6 months: VEEA revised and supplemented the Association's Charter after the Congress approved the Charter by the Ministry of Home Affairs; completed the operation of the Association; researched and participated in several projects of the Ministry of Industry and Trade and of EVN; completed research projects on manufacturing sample power converters for rooftop solar power projects; studied the possibility of collecting and processing photovoltaic panels that have expired/damaged; participated in commenting on the draft Power Plan VIII, etc. Regarding training, VEEA has appraised and submitted 30 Asean engineers from the units.
Regarding the orientation of activities in the coming time, Mr. Duong Quang Thanh - Chairman of EVN’s Member Board, Chairman of VEEA, said that the Vietnam Electricity Association will continue to promote member development; directly participate in scientific and technological research activities in the energy sector; cooperate in construction work and amendment of policies and laws on Electricity. At the same time, VEEA will strengthen cooperation and sign agreements with Asian Electricity Associations.
