Energizing Duy Xuyen 220kV substation (Quang Nam)

At 5:30 a.m. on November 21, the Central Power Projects Management Board (CPMB) coordinated with relevant units to energize Duy Xuyen 220kV substation (Duy Trung commune, Duy Xuyen district, Quang Nam province).

Duy Xuyen 220kV substation has a complete capacity of 1x125 + 1x250 MVA. In this phase, a 125MVA transformer is installed with a land reserve to build a new 250MVA transformer for the next phase. The 220kV connection line has a length of about 1.25km through Duy Trung commune, Duy Xuyen district, Quang Nam province.

Duyen Xuyen 220kV substation and connection line project

The project was commenced in September 2020 in the complicated situation of the COVID-19 pandemic. Overcoming many difficulties, CPMB and the construction units completed and energized the work.

This project plays an important role in ensuring power supply for Quang Nam province and surrounding areas; collects renewable energy sources in the region to transmit to the national power grid; reduces the maximum power loss of the regional power grid and improves the regional 110kV grid voltage. This project is also ready to connect to the Thanh My - Duy Xuyen 220kV line to release 600MW of Monsoon Wind Power Plant (Laos).

This is the second project that CPMB applies building information model (BIM) in project management, thereby contributing to promoting the digital transformation of Vietnam Electricity and National Power Transmission Corporation.

Duy Xuyen 220kV substation is a grade I, group B energy project, invested by the National Power Transmission Corporation (EVNNPT) with a total of VND298.5 billion. The completion of the project is a practical action of EVNNPT/CPMB to celebrate the 68th traditional day of the Vietnam Power Sector (December 21, 1954 - December 21, 2022).
