The conference summarizing the Party, professional work in 2024, and implementing tasks in 2025 of Power Generation Corporation 1 (EVNGENCO1) took place on the morning of 31 December in Hanoi.

Electricity production surpasses plan

In 2024, EVNGENCO1 ensured safe and stable electricity production and met the mobilization requirements of the system. The total electricity output of EVNGENCO1 is estimated to be 32.6 billion kWh in 2024, reaching 104.2% of the planned output assigned by the Ministry of Industry and Trade. EVNGENCO1 has also achieved and surpassed 4/6 production and business plan targets assigned by EVN, power plants generally operate safely and stably, meeting the mobilization requirements of the system.

In particular, hydropower plants (HPPs) ensure the mobilization requirements of the National Load Dispatch Center, now the National Power System and the National Electricity System and Market Operation Company Limited  (NSMO), as well as meeting water needs by local needs. Many HPPs have completed the 2024 output plan ahead of schedule. For thermal power plants (TPPs), coal supply ensures operational requirements, and inventories are always at a safe level. The power plants have basically completed major repairs to ensure the progress and quality of repairs.

In addition, EVNGENCO1 has well-done cost management, and reasonable management, ensuring jobs and salaries for employees.

Regarding science and innovation management, in 2024, EVNGENCO1 had 02 initiatives recognized as EVN-level initiatives, 68/84 solutions, and initiatives at the EVNGENCO1 level. In particular, the " One-way information optical isolation product set for data transmission application from DCS system to external computer" by a group of authors from Dong Nai Hydropower Company - Production Engineering Department of the EVNGENCO1 was recognized by EVN as a "Make by EVN" product. Products have special significance in the era of Industry 4.0, to connect and transmit data from OT and IT networks to ensure information security and safety, bringing high economic efficiency.

EVNGENCO1 also performs well in environmental protection and other activities such as digital transformation, restructuring, human resource training and development, communications, corporate culture building, science, technology and environment, corporate governance, etc.

Accelerating "finish line" of 5-year plan for period 2021-2025

In 2025, EVN leaders request EVNGENCO1 to focus on implementing new power source projects by planning and ensuring a stable, continuous, and safe power supply. EVNGENCO1 also needs to promote the digital transformation program to improve system reliability and control and; at the same time, strengthen management and operation to carry out tasks by plan, effectively and cost-effectively. EVN's leaders especially emphasized the importance of training and developing key staff, considering this a key factor in ensuring long-term and sustainable operational capacity. In addition, strengthening coordination between EVNGENCO1 and ministries, branches, localities, and relevant agencies is a core factor to ensure success in implementing strategic targets.

In addition, 2025 is also the year to complete the 5-year Plan from 2021 to 2025 for Vietnam Electricity in general and Power Generation Corporation 1 in particular. To complete the annual plan as well as the 5-year targets, EVNGENCO1 identifies the main targets and tasks such as: ensuring safe and stable power generation operations and meeting the mobilization requirements of the system; ensuring adequate fuel supply for power production; continuing to promote the implementation of projects and programs to reduce fuel consumption at thermal power plants; participating in the competitive wholesale electricity market by the Government's roadmap, improve the competitiveness of EVNGENCO1 through price reduction of electricity production. In addition, EVNGENCO1 also strives to ensure the completion of investment preparation for projects serving production and business activities; continue to research and promote investment in new power source projects by approved plans; continue to arrange, innovate, and improve corporate governance capacity, towards a modern corporate governance model, etc.
