In order to strengthen and deepen the cooperation of the two countries, Minister Tran Tuan Anh hopes the Government of Switzerland to continue to pay more attention to Vietnam in the fields of energy, renewable energy and clean energy such as hydropower, solar, wind energy.
The meeting between the Minister of Industry and Trade of Viet Nam and Minister for Environment, Transport, Energy and Communications of Switzerland took place on April 3rd, 2018, in Ha Noi
Mr. Tran Tuan Anh said that Vietnam is currently in the process of opening the market and integrating deeply into the world market, especially when Viet Nam is going to sign and implement negotiations on the Vietnam - EU Free Trade Agreement in the coming time, the Comprehensive and Progressive Agreement for Trans-Pacific Partnership (CPTPP), in which the Free Trade Agreement (FTA) between Vietnam and the EFTA is under negotiation for mutually signing in the time to come.
The Minister said that the prompt signing of free trade agreements will be a favorable condition as well as open up great opportunities for the cooperation between Vietnam and other countries, including Switzerland.
Mrs. Doris Leuthard introduced energy-related businesses accompanying her during this visit to seek opportunities for cooperation and investment in Vietnam, ttypically, the Company ABB of Switzerland which is present in Vietnam.
She affirmed that Switzerland always attaches great importance to the cooperative relations with Vietnam in various fields and recognizes the great potential for cooperation between the two countries, especially when the Free Trade Agreement between Viet Nam and other countries in the EFTA bloc has achieved significant results at the recent negotiation session.
When the FTA between Viet Nam and the EFTA takes effect, along with the interest and support of the two Governments and relevant ministries and agencies as well as the dynamism of enterprises, the cooperation between Vietnam and Switzerland is expected continue to gain stronger growth.
