Ensuring electricity production for industrial zones

Mr. Nguyen Truong Thi - Deputy Director of the Department of Industry and Trade of Binh Duong province - said: In 2024, Binh Duong Power Company has performed well in its task of ensuring safe, continuous and stable power supply for socio-economic development in the province. In particular, the energization of 7 110kV projects with an additional capacity of 315MVA has been completed, contributing greatly to the power supply capacity, ensuring electricity for industrial production in the province.

It is forecasted that in 2025 and the following years, the demand for electricity in Binh Duong province will continue to increase again thanks to the recovery of socio-economic activities and many new industrial parks and industrial clusters being ready to come into operation. In addition, Binh Duong is also forecasted to continue to be a bright spot in attracting new generation foreign direct investment (FDI). Therefore, this province and the Electricity sector identify investment in construction and renovation of the power grid, ensuring stable and continuous power supply as one of the important factors for socio-economic development, especially attracting investment and developing industry.

In 2024 alone, Binh Duong Power Company's commercial electricity output will reach nearly 17 billion kWh, reaching more than 104% of the plan assigned by the Southern Power Corporation (EVNSPC). It is expected that in 2025, commercial electricity output will reach 18.4 billion kWh, an increase of 8.6% compared to that in 2024.

Speaking to reporters of the Industry and Trade Newspaper, a representative of EVNSPC said: In recent years, the Electricity industry and Binh Duong Power Company have proactively developed plans to invest in power projects to ensure load capacity to meet the electricity needs of production and daily life of local people. Priority is given to projects and substations serving industrial production, especially the industrial parks in the province.

In particular, to ensure the ability to supply power and attract investment in Binh Duong province, the total capital for investment in the construction of 110kV and medium-low voltage grids in the period of 2022-2025 is invested by the electricity industry at over VND 4,500 billion. In 2025 alone, it is expected that more than VND 1,127 billion will be invested in the construction of the grid.

In particular, priority will be given to investment in projects to renovate the existing 110kV grid, upgrade as well as build new medium-low voltage grids and substations, in order to reduce the load on the existing grid and ensure power supply in the province.

Specifically, investment in the construction of the 110kV grid, including 24 construction items of various types, with a total investment of over VND 278 billion. Investment in the construction of the medium voltage grid is over VND 783 billion. And investment in major repairs of 35 projects is over VND 66 billion (110kV grid is over VND 12 billion, medium voltage grid is over VND 46 billion).

Energize and put into use 5 projects before April 30, 2025

Mr. Le Minh Quoc Viet - Director of Binh Duong Power Company - said: The power grid system in the province is currently in a state of full load. Therefore, the electricity industry is focusing on investing in upgrading the power grid, substations, major repairs... to increase the reliability of power supply.

It is expected that before April 30, 2025, Binh Duong Power Company will complete the energization of 5 110kV power grid projects: VSIP 2 - MR2 110kV Station; Cong Xanh 110kV Station; An Lap 110kV Station; Thanh An 110kV Station; 110kV Line Thanh An 110kV Station - Ben Cat 220kV Station; thereby, ensuring power supply for production for enterprises, especially in industrial parks.
