Doubling capacity of Sa Dec 220kV substation

On the evening of December 8, the National Power Transmission Corporation (EVNNPT), the Power Transmission Project Management Board (NPTPMB) in coordination with relevant units successfully energized the second transformer of the 220kV Sa Dec substation (Sa Dec city, Dong Thap province), thereby increasing the substation's capacity from 250MVA to 500MVA.
The project is owned by the National Power Transmission Corporation (EVNNPT).

Project scale: Installing an additional 220kV AT2 transformer with a capacity of 250MVA, increasing the substation's capacity from 1x250MVA to 2x250MVA. On the 220kV side, installing an additional 220kV bay for the transformer AT2-250MVA. On the 110kV side, installing an additional 110kV bay for the transformer AT2-250MVA. Completing technical solutions to suit the new scale of the substation.
According to Mr. Le Tuan Anh - Deputy Director of NPTPMB, the completion of the project helps reduce load and avoid overload for Sa Dec 220kV substation, increase power supply and meet the electricity needs for socio-economic development of the Dong Thap province as well as surrounding areas; Enhancing safe and stable connections, meeting N-1 criteria and being flexible in operating the regional power system.
