On the evening of October 26 in Hanoi, Vietnam Electricity (EVN) and four of its member corporations headquartered in the capital contributed VND 3 billion to Hanoi’s “For the Poor” Fund and social welfare programs in 2026, helping support people living in poverty and families facing difficult circumstances.

The “Joining Hands for the Poor and Social Welfare in Hanoi in 2026” program was jointly organized by the Hanoi People’s Committee and the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of Hanoi on the evening of October 26 at the Viet Xo Friendship Labour Cultural Palace (91 Tran Hung Dao Street, Cua Nam Ward, Hanoi).

Representing EVN’s leadership, staff, employees, and workers, Do Duc Hung, Member of the Executive Committee of the Vietnam General Confederation of Labour and Chairman of the Vietnam Electricity Trade Union, attended the program and presented a symbolic representation of the VND 3 billion contribution from EVN and its four member corporations headquartered in Hanoi.

This meaningful initiative responds to the emulation movement “For the Poor – Leaving No One Behind” and the 2026 peak month for “For the Poor” activities. It also demonstrates the sense of responsibility and solidarity of electricity sector staff, employees, and workers in supporting disadvantaged families and vulnerable groups in the capital.

EVN and its four member corporations headquartered in Hanoi contributed a total of VND 3 billion. Vietnam Electricity (EVN) contributed VND 1 billion, while Power Generation Corporation 1 (EVNGENCO1), the National Power Transmission Corporation (EVNNPT), the Northern Power Corporation (EVNNPC), and Hanoi Power Corporation (EVNHANOI) each contributed VND 500 million.

The contributions from EVN and its four member corporations are expected to support social welfare activities in Hanoi, focusing on education, healthcare, and the construction, repair, and renovation of homes for people living in poverty. This will help the capital’s authorities and residents improve living conditions, particularly for poor and near-poor households and those facing especially difficult circumstances.

In recent years, alongside its mission of ensuring electricity supply for socio-economic development and people’s daily needs, EVN and its member units have consistently focused on implementing a wide range of social welfare activities for policy beneficiary families, people living in poverty, those facing difficult circumstances, and communities affected by natural disasters, storms, and floods.

Recently, at the “Connecting Through Compassion” arts program held in Hanoi on the evening of October 5, 2026, EVN contributed VND 1 billion to support women and children with life-threatening illnesses who are facing particularly difficult circumstances.

In addition, through its annual Customer Appreciation Month program, EVN and its power units have carried out a range of community-focused activities, including visiting and presenting gifts to policy beneficiary families and poor households, and providing electrical system inspections and repairs for households facing difficult circumstances. These efforts help ensure electrical safety and improve people’s quality of life.
